however, even parents with the best intentions can screw up children. 

elsa’s parents fucked up hard. yes, they did the best by hiding her away. but they did not have to treat her like she was a monster. they did not have to add fire to her growing fears about her powers

instead of telling her that she was not a monster, they handed her gloves and told her to conceal her powers

instead of telling her to practice her powers in secret to get better, they forced her to accept this mantra of “conceal it don’t feel it” which had twisted to become “conceal don’t feel”. 

INSTEAD OF MAKING SURE THAT SHE WASN’T AFRAID, THEY FUCKING ADDED WOOD AND FUEL AND OTHER FLAMMABLE THINGS TO THE FIRE THAT WAS ELSA’S FEARS. The trolls said that fear would be Elsa’s enemy and what did her parents do? Allow the fear to grow instead of finding ways to help her. The smallest thing could have helped but they did nothing but lock her in a palace and hand her a pair of gloves and told her to calm down.

you can say all you want that they protected her. that they were doing this because magic wasn’t accepted during the 19TH CENTURY (not 18th because ya know, Frozen is set in the 1830s-1840s), but even you need to accept that the parents fucked up. MAJORLY.
