her fingers curled against the bed, the sky still in its dim phase before the dawn. the memory was crisp in her mind, fresh with its hours still behind her. how could a peaceful bartering journey go so wrong? she could still see her fight, still see herself as she tried to save her. still see her bleeding. her breath hitched again in her chest.
she stood there, mouth open a bit, not really knowing what to do, or rather to say. anna continued like this, in silence, for another few seconds before she tried speaking.
