( && empress of austria;; )

as Kaiserin, Elisabeth is forced to deal with nonsense such as this.
one of her many duties includes greeting the guests to the imperial
palace. most of the time, she does not mind it. better to do this than
to be bored out of her mind. however, she’s required to act in a
                 certain manner.

after all, eine kaiserin muss glänzen.

& if Sophie finds out she does not act the way she should, Elisabeth
will suffer. she’ll have to sit through another lecture, listen to her
overbearing mother-in-law lay down even more ridiculous
& restrictive laws. it’s horrible enough that she must stomach her
mother-in-law & the aristocracy’s criticism everyday. she does not
want or need another reason for them to hate her.

if she is kaiserin of Austria, why does it feel like she is nothing
more than a bird in a gilded change? the newly wed clings onto
the hope that things will get better though. despite what der Tod
                 says, things will get better.

when the princess enters the throne room, Elisabeth does her best
to recall her ( training ) & smiles. [ or at least, she tries to ]

❝ in a way ———— i mean, no you are not.
welcome to Vienna. my husband & mother-
in-law tell me you are traveling from Arendelle.

                                                  ——— why? ❞

Not like Anna hasn’t dealt with people before————
as part of her agreement with Elsa and the council board
of dignitaries, Anna was to be trained in the world of
socialites along with her sister. They would immerse
themselves among the rich and famous, the popular rulers,
and power players. They would learn how to play their games.
And for Anna, it was especially important that she learn
everything Elsa did, because if her sister didn’t produce a male
heir   (   or   any   heir   for   that   matter   )
Anna was sure to be the next Queen of Arendelle, and of course
Kristoff and her would have children.

She took a deep breath, trying to recall all her training in proper
speaking, and proper posture. She tried so desperately to mimic
her sister.

❝ There was a letter sent over detailing
my detour to your country, but I feel like
it has not reached your hands yet.   My
sister has asked me to stop here in her
place, as our Kingdom is finally under-
going trade after twelve years and well,
                         business        is        booming.

Anyway, I’ve come to see if we can make
some sort of agreement on possible trade?
I’m sure Arendelle has something to offer
                         Austria.                               Do we not? ❞

Oh yes, Anna. That’s a great way to start things off.
Just get right to the point, why don’t you? Surely, that
won’t set her off.

Where Elsa [ succeeds ], Anna fails.
